Addictive Rating: 2
Identical twins separated at a young age experience very different lives. One, a popular girl in Gangnam, and the other is a bullied girl in Tongyeong. Their lives become all wrapped up together again when they are in high school. Of course, love triangles keep the plot’s romantic theme interesting, and the critique of private tutoring gone mad, plus the education system as a whole and the corruption that can and does happen gave it a somewhat more “adult-like” feel.
What I have to say:
I liked the way they moved the plot, kept you guessing, and focused on character development. I really cared about all of them. Even toward the end, I cared about the meanest character. Not much, but a little bit! The love triangle plot was kind of weak, but I liked how both of the interested parties were good guys and easy to care about and root for. I didn’t favor one over the other. One was rich and had all the material possessions he could want, but had an empty heart with divorced parents that didn’t express their love to him easily. The other was probably considered low-income by Korean standards, was raised by a single father (no clue on what happened to his mother), but had a father with a heart of gold that loved and expressed his love for his son. The identical twins, played by the same actress both lead interesting lives as well, and everyone loves to see identical twins confuse people. Or at least I admit, I do! The music in this drama is also really good! I admit I bought the 3 most played songs off of iTunes. I recommend this one – it’s easy to binge watch it, not tooooooo dramatic that it’ll keep you up at night, but overall a well-told story.

Soju (1) | It had me coming back for more, but left me with a hangover. Worth it in the moment, but slight regret the next day.
Kimbap (2) | It moved well and often left me wondering what would happen in the next episode, but it wasn't as fulfilling as it had the potential to be.
Bibimbap (3) | I lost a lot of sleep because they knew how to end each episode with a cliffhanger! Lots of harmonious ingredients making this one a win!
Fanatic (4) | An amazing drama that was very well told and nearly every single episode ended with a major cliffhanger making you scream for more! I'm an absolute fan!
(I only put on here the dramas I actually recommend because I think it's really good. Even a soju rating means it was good and satisfying. A fanatic rating just means it blew me away and was near perfection. There are many dramas I've seen that I don't have on my recommendation list.)
