Addictive Rating: 3
Synopsis: Set in 1994, six university students from various provincial areas of South Korea (Jeolla Province, Chungcheong Province, and Gyeongsang Province) live together at a boarding house in Sinchon, Seoul, which is run by a couple with a daughter named Na-jung.Like its predecessor, Reply 1997, it follows a non-linear story telling where it shifts between the past in 1994 and the present in 2013, making the viewers guess who will become Na-jung's husband among the male characters. The series follows the pop culture events that happened between 1994 and the years that follow, including the emergence of seminal K-pop group Seo Taiji and Boys and the Korean Basketball League. -Source Wikipedia What I have to say: Very similar feel to the Answer Me 1997 drama, but totally new plot and characters. Though I found it very entertaining and funny when they intertwined the 1997 cast with the 1994 cast. ^^ Personally, I thought it was fairly predictable to figure out who Na Jung marries, so that would be my only complaint - to make it more suspenseful and a surprise. My husband and I really looked forward to watching each episode of this drama! I could keep watching drama by these writers again and again!

Rating Guide:
Soju (1) | It had me coming back for more, but left me with a hangover. Worth it in the moment, but slight regret the next day. Kimbap (2) | It moved well and often left me wondering what would happen in the next episode, but it wasn't as fulfilling as it had the potential to be. Bibimbap (3) | I lost a lot of sleep because they knew how to end each episode with a cliffhanger! Lots of harmonious ingredients making this one a win! Fanatic (4) | An amazing drama that was very well told and nearly every single episode ended with a major cliffhanger making you scream for more! I'm an absolute fan! (I only put on here the dramas I actually recommend because I think it's really good. Even a soju rating means it was good and satisfying. A fanatic rating just means it blew me away and was near perfection. There are many dramas I've seen that I don't have on my recommendation list.) Follow my blog on Korean Dramas! |
